Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) today released the following statement congratulating the City of Sierra Vista, Arizona as the winner of the Association of Defense Communities’ (ADC) Community Excellence Award. Fort Huachuca is located in Sierra Vista and is the home of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command/ 9^th Army Signal Command.

The Community Excellence Award recognizes Sierra Vista for providing the installation with a library, transit, and recycling series along with the partnerships that the city and local organizations have developed with the Army to provide better services and programs.

“Sierra Vista truly embodies what it means to be a great American defense community,” said Flake. “I am proud they are being recognized for all they have done to embrace and honor the service and contributions of Fort Huachuca and the larger community that it encompasses.”
